Miles Toland was born in 1990 and grew up in the artistic city of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

His creativity is the result of graffiti culture, a BFA in painting and video at the Cornish College of the Arts, festivals and his travels to India over the last three winters.

Miles Toland’s surrealist paintings capture the mysterious places we visit between sleep and awakening. He invites the viewer into this liminal space by mixing familiar elements of our objective world with ethereal textures and geometric patterns. His style fuses naturalistic human forms with transcendental drawings structured by sacred geometry. The mandalas and the organic fluidity of his line suggest the energy of the subjects that extends beyond their physical presence into the spiritual realm. Miles treats his art as a spiritual practice of resonating resistance, honouring fading beauty and finding wisdom in the organic forms of nature.
